較金尤貴兮、雖兼金之豐饒、亦無足比兮、較蜜尤甘兮、雖蜂房之滴瀝、亦不能擬兮、

較金寶貴、較極多之精金更加寶貴、甘勝於蜜、較蜂房之蜜尤甘、

天威分明在。萬古永不移。神斷剖黑白。陰隲定是非。

They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.

你們要接受我的教訓，不要銀子；寧願得著知識，勝過精金；因為智慧比紅寶石更好，你一切所喜愛的都不能和智慧比較。

我的果實勝過黃金，勝過精金，我的出產勝過純銀。

智慧不能用純金購買，也不能稱銀子作它的代價。俄斐金，貴重的瑪瑙、藍寶石，都不能與它比較。黃金和玻璃不能與它比較，純金的器皿不能與它交換。

我兒，你要吃蜜，因為這是好的；吃蜂房下滴的蜜，就覺甘甜。

我的心滿足，就像飽享了骨髓肥油；我要用歡樂的嘴唇讚美你。

他們進了樹林，看見有蜂蜜流出來，卻沒有人敢伸手取蜜入口，因為眾人都害怕所起的誓。約拿單沒有聽見他父親叫眾民所起的誓，所以伸出手中的杖，用杖頭蘸在蜂房裡，轉手送進口裡，他的眼睛就明亮了。眾民中有一個人說：“你父親曾經叫眾人嚴嚴地起誓說：‘今天吃食物的，那人必受咒詛。’所以眾人都疲乏了。”約拿單說：“我父親連累了這地的人。你們看！我嘗了這一點蜂蜜以後，我的眼睛就明亮了。
