較金寶貴、較極多之精金更加寶貴、甘勝於蜜、較蜂房之蜜尤甘、

天威分明在。萬古永不移。神斷剖黑白。陰隲定是非。

They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.

得着智慧，获致聪明的人，是有福的。因为智慧的利润胜过银子的利润，智慧的收益胜过黄金的收益。智慧比红宝石更宝贵；你一切所喜爱的，都不足与智慧比较。

你们要接受我的教训，不要银子；宁愿得着知识，胜过精金；因为智慧比红宝石更好，你一切所喜爱的都不能和智慧比较。

我的果实胜过黄金，胜过精金，我的出产胜过纯银。

智慧不能用纯金购买，也不能称银子作它的代价。俄斐金，贵重的玛瑙、蓝宝石，都不能与它比较。黄金和玻璃不能与它比较，纯金的器皿不能与它交换。

我儿，你要吃蜜，因为这是好的；吃蜂房下滴的蜜，就觉甘甜。

我的心满足，就像饱享了骨髓肥油；我要用欢乐的嘴唇赞美你。

他们进了树林，看见有蜂蜜流出来，却没有人敢伸手取蜜入口，因为众人都害怕所起的誓。约拿单没有听见他父亲叫众民所起的誓，所以伸出手中的杖，用杖头蘸在蜂房里，转手送进口里，他的眼睛就明亮了。众民中有一个人说：“你父亲曾经叫众人严严地起誓说：‘今天吃食物的，那人必受咒诅。’所以众人都疲乏了。”约拿单说：“我父亲连累了这地的人。你们看！我尝了这一点蜂蜜以后，我的眼睛就明亮了。
