because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes– his eternal power and divine nature– have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse.

When I look up at the heavens, which your fingers made, and see the moon and the stars, which you set in place,

The heavens declare his fairness, for God is judge.( Selah)

God said,“ Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs to indicate seasons and days and years,and let them serve as lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.” It was so.

By the LORD’s decree the heavens were made; by a mere word from his mouth all the stars in the sky were created.

Praise him, O sun and moon! Praise him, all you shiny stars!Praise him, O highest heaven, and you waters above the sky!

But the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenly expanse. And those bringing many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever.

Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary! Praise him in the sky, which testifies to his strength!Praise him for his mighty acts! Praise him for his surpassing greatness!

The heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to mankind.

You people of Israel should tell those nations this:‘ These gods did not make heaven and earth. They will disappear from the earth and from under the heavens.’The LORD is the one who by his power made the earth. He is the one who by his wisdom established the world. And by his understanding he spread out the skies.

He is the one who sits on the earth’s horizon; its inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. He is the one who stretches out the sky like a thin curtain, and spreads it out like a pitched tent.He is the one who reduces rulers to nothing; he makes the earth’s leaders insignificant.Indeed, they are barely planted; yes, they are barely sown; yes, they barely take root in the earth, and then he blows on them, causing them to dry up, and the wind carries them away like straw.“ To whom can you compare me? Whom do I resemble?” says the Holy One.Look up at the sky! Who created all these heavenly lights? He is the one who leads out their ranks; he calls them all by name. Because of his absolute power and awesome strength, not one of them is missing.

God said,“ Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters and let it separate water from water.So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. It was so.God called the expanse“ sky.” There was evening, and there was morning, a second day.
