悲我身之遭厄兮。求恩主之矜憐。竟脫我於虎口兮。信慈惠之無邊。

Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead,

When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying,“ I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”And all the people answered and said,“ His blood be on us and on our children.”

Many bulls have surrounded Me; Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.They gape at Me with their mouths, Like a raging and roaring lion.

For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;

And while He was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, with a great multitude with swords and clubs, came from the chief priests and elders of the people.

He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.

And they will be afraid. Pangs and sorrows will take hold of them; They will be in pain as a woman in childbirth; They will be amazed at one another; Their faces will be like flames.

And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.Then He said to them,“ My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch.”

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their headsand saying,“ You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said,“ He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him.He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.

And all the city was disturbed; and the people ran together, seized Paul, and dragged him out of the temple; and immediately the doors were shut.

In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes,“ Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me.

Then He said to them,“ My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.”He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying,“ O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
