主已試驗我心、夜間觀察我、熬鍊我、曾未見我心有邪念、口有過言、

主曾賜鍛鍊。清夜測吾心。考驗亦云詳。未發纖屑妄。凡我口所言。莫非心所想。我既抱精一。心口豈有兩。

Though you probe my heart, though you examine me at night and test me, you will find that I have planned no evil; my mouth has not transgressed.

Look deep down into my heart. Study me carefully at night and test me. You won’t find anything wrong. I have planned nothing evil. My mouth has not said sinful things.

You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night, you have tested me, and you will find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.

You have tested my thoughts and examined my heart in the night. You have scrutinized me and found nothing wrong. I am determined not to sin in what I say.

You have put my heart to the test; You have visited me by night; You have sifted me and You find nothing; My intent is that my mouth will not offend.

You have proved my heart. You have visited me in the night. You have tried me, and found nothing. I have resolved that my mouth shall not disobey.

Yet he knows the way I have taken; when he has tested me, I will emerge as pure gold.

But who can endure the day of his coming? And who will be able to stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire and like launderer’s bleach.

When he arrived and saw the grace of God, he was glad and encouraged all of them to remain true to the Lord with devoted hearts,

so that the proven character of your faith— more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire— may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Test me, LORD, and try me; examine my heart and mind.

I said,“ I will guard my ways so that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle as long as the wicked are in my presence.”

I will put this third through the fire; I will refine them as silver is refined and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say,‘ They are my people,’ and they will say,‘ The LORD is our God.’”

The one who guards his mouth protects his life; the one who opens his lips invites his own ruin.

For you, God, tested us; you refined us as silver is refined.

LORD, you have searched me and known me.

All this has happened to us, but we have not forgotten you or betrayed your covenant.Our hearts have not turned back; our steps have not strayed from your path.But you have crushed us in a haunt of jackals and have covered us with deepest darkness.If we had forgotten the name of our God and spread out our hands to a foreign god,wouldn’t God have found this out, since he knows the secrets of the heart?

During the night Paul had a vision in which a Macedonian man was standing and pleading with him,“ Cross over to Macedonia and help us!”

The LORD examines the righteous, but he hates the wicked and those who love violence.

The Lord said to Paul in a night vision,“ Don’t be afraid, but keep on speaking and don’t be silent.For I am with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to hurt you, because I have many people in this city.”

I have solemnly sworn to keep your righteous judgments.

In those days and at that time— this is the LORD’s declaration— one will search for Israel’s iniquity, but there will be none, and for Judah’s sins, but they will not be found, for I will forgive those I leave as a remnant.

For they— their hearts like an oven— draw him into their oven. Their anger smolders all night; in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.

Woe to those who dream up wickedness and prepare evil plans on their beds! At morning light they accomplish it because the power is in their hands.

I will bless the LORD who counsels me— even at night when my thoughts trouble me.

You can see with your own eyes that the LORD handed you over to me today in the cave. Someone advised me to kill you, but I took pity on you and said: I won’t lift my hand against my lord, since he is the LORD’s anointed.

For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is mature, able also to control the whole body.

However, as the LORD is my witness, I will never lift my hand against the LORD’s anointed. Instead, take the spear and the water jug by his head, and let’s go.”

The LORD will repay every man for his righteousness and his loyalty. I wasn’t willing to lift my hand against the LORD’s anointed, even though the LORD handed you over to me today.

if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,

The murderer rises at dawn to kill the poor and needy, and by night he becomes a thief.

For I am not conscious of anything against myself, but I am not justified by this. It is the Lord who judges me.

“ May the LORD judge between me and you, and may the LORD take vengeance on you for me, but my hand will never be against you.

Indeed, this is our boast: The testimony of our conscience is that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially toward you, with godly sincerity and purity, not by human wisdom but by God’s grace.
