LORD, use your power to deliver me from these murderers, from the murderers of this world! They enjoy prosperity; you overwhelm them with the riches they desire. They have many children, and leave their wealth to their offspring.

耶和華兮、手援拯我、斯世害予兮、爾其免我、乃彼至今兮、反得福祜、富有兮豐亨、寖昌兮寢熾、業遺於子孫、

求主以手救我、脫離此世界之人、彼眾今生享福、主賜之財寶、滿其所欲、子孫眾多、又將盈餘留於後裔、

更望賜提撕。俾與鄉願隔。鄉願生斯世。但為斯世活。以主無盡藏。暢恣其口腹。金玉既滿堂。有子萬事足。積蓄遺兒孫。繩繩相承續。

By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

Lord, by your power save me from people like that. They belong to this world. They get their reward in this life. May what you have stored up for evil people fill their bellies. May their children’s stomachs be filled with it. And may there even be leftovers for their little ones.

from men by your hand, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their womb with treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.

By the power of your hand, O Lord, destroy those who look to this world for their reward. But satisfy the hunger of your treasured ones. May their children have plenty, leaving an inheritance for their descendants.

With your hand, LORD, save me from men, from men of the world whose portion is in this life: You fill their bellies with what you have in store; their sons are satisfied, and they leave their surplus to their children.

From men[ which are] thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world,[ which have] their portion in[ this] life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid[ treasure]: they are full of children, and leave the rest of their[ substance] to their babes.

from men by your hand, Yahweh, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life. You fill the belly of your cherished ones. Your sons have plenty, and they store up wealth for their children.

But Abraham said,‘ Child, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things and Lazarus likewise bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in anguish.

And I will say to myself,“ You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’So it is with the one who stores up riches for himself, but is not rich toward God.”

If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you do not belong to the world, but I chose you out of the world, for this reason the world hates you.

For he will take nothing with him when he dies; his wealth will not follow him down into the grave.He pronounces this blessing on himself while he is alive:“ May men praise you, for you have done well!”But he will join his ancestors; they will never again see the light of day.

The master commended the dishonest manager because he acted shrewdly. For the people of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their contemporaries than the people of light.

But it was he who filled their houses with good things– yet the counsel of the wicked was far from me.

Jesus replied,“ You people are from below; I am from above. You people are from this world; I am not from this world.

I have given them your word, and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.

If his children increase– it is for the sword! His offspring never have enough to eat.Those who survive him are buried by the plague, and their widows do not mourn for them.If he piles up silver like dust and stores up clothing like mounds of clay,what he stores up a righteous man will wear, and an innocent man will inherit his silver.

Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this,

Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away.”

“ Why do the wicked go on living, grow old, even increase in power?Their children are firmly established in their presence, their offspring before their eyes.Their houses are safe and without fear; and no rod of punishment from God is upon them.Their bulls breed without fail; their cows calve and do not miscarry.They allow their children to run like a flock; their little ones dance about.They sing to the accompaniment of tambourine and harp, and make merry to the sound of the flute.They live out their years in prosperity and go down to the grave in peace.So they say to God,‘ Turn away from us! We do not want to know your ways.Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? What would we gain if we were to pray to him?’

You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world’s perspective and the world listens to them.

So the rich man said,‘ Then I beg you, father– send Lazarus to my father’s house( for I have five brothers) to warn them so that they don’t come into this place of torment.’

For what is his interest in his home after his death, when the number of his months has been broken off?

But the tents of robbers are peaceful, and those who provoke God are confident– who carry their god in their hands.

You have lived indulgently and luxuriously on the earth. You have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter.

if you seek it like silver, and search for it like hidden treasure,

For I envied those who are proud, as I observed the prosperity of the wicked.For they suffer no pain; their bodies are strong and well-fed.They are immune to the trouble common to men; they do not suffer as other men do.Arrogance is their necklace, and violence their clothing.Their prosperity causes them to do wrong; their thoughts are sinful.

“ The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure, hidden in a field, that a person found and hid. Then because of joy he went and sold all that he had and bought that field.

Take a good look! This is what the wicked are like, those who always have it so easy and get richer and richer.
