更望賜提撕。俾與鄉願隔。鄉願生斯世。但為斯世活。以主無盡藏。暢恣其口腹。金玉既滿堂。有子萬事足。積蓄遺兒孫。繩繩相承續。

By your hand save me from such people, Lord, from those of this world whose reward is in this life. May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies; may their children gorge themselves on it, and may there be leftovers for their little ones.

Lord, by your power save me from people like that. They belong to this world. They get their reward in this life. May what you have stored up for evil people fill their bellies. May their children’s stomachs be filled with it. And may there even be leftovers for their little ones.

from men by your hand, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their womb with treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.

By the power of your hand, O Lord, destroy those who look to this world for their reward. But satisfy the hunger of your treasured ones. May their children have plenty, leaving an inheritance for their descendants.

亞伯拉罕說：‘孩子，你應該回想你生前享過福，同樣拉撒路受過苦，現在他在這裡得安慰，你卻要受苦了。

你們若屬於這世界，世人必定愛屬自己的；但因為你們不屬於世界，而是我從世界中揀選了你們，所以世人就恨你們。

因為他死的時候，甚麼也不能帶走；他的榮華也不能隨他下去。他在世的時候，雖然自稱是有福的，並且說：“只要你豐足，人就稱讚你。”他還要歸到他歷代的祖宗那裡去，永不再見光明。

主人就誇獎這不義的管家作事機警；因為在應付自己的世事上，今世之子比光明之子更精明。

他用美物充滿他們的房屋，惡人的謀算遠離我。

耶穌說：“你們是從地上來的，我是從天上來的；你們屬這世界，我卻不屬這世界，

我把你的道賜給了他們；世人恨他們，因為他們不屬於這世界，像我不屬於這世界一樣。

即使他的兒女增多，還是被刀劍所殺，他的子孫也必永不得飽食；他的遺族在死人中埋葬，他的寡婦也都不哀哭。他雖然堆積銀子如塵沙，預備衣服如泥土，他儘管預備，義人卻要穿上；他的銀子，無辜的人也要瓜分。

從這一切看來，誰不知道，是耶和華的手作成這事的呢？

世人來來往往只是幻影，他們忙亂也是虛空；積聚財物，卻不知道誰要來收取。

惡人為甚麼總可以存活，活到老，而且財勢強大？他們的後裔在他們面前堅定，他們眼見自己的子孫在他們周圍立定。他們的家宅平安無懼，神的刑杖也不加在他們身上。他們的公牛交配而不落種，他們的母牛下犢而不掉胎，他們叫小孩子出去多如羊群，他們的年輕人四處跳躍；他們跟著琴鼓高歌，又因著簫的聲音歡樂。他們幸福度過他們的日子，一剎那間下陰間，毫無病痛。然而他們對神說：‘離開我們吧，我們不願意曉得你的道路。全能者是誰，竟要我們服事他呢？我們若向他懇求，有甚麼益處呢？’

孩子們，你們是屬於神的，並且已經勝過他們，因為那在你們裡面的比那在世上的更大。他們是屬於世界的，因此講論屬世的事，世界也就聽從他們。

那人說：‘我祖啊，那麼求你差遣拉撒路到我家裡去，因為我有五個兄弟，他可以警告他們，免得他們也到這受苦的地方來。’

他的歲月既然斷絕，他還會看顧自己身後的家嗎？

強盜的帳幕興旺，惹神發怒的安穩，神的手賞賜他們。

你們在世上窮奢極侈，養肥了自己，竟不知屠宰的日子到了。

如果你尋找它如同尋找銀子，搜尋它好像搜尋寶藏；

我看見惡人興隆，我就嫉妒狂傲的人。他們沒有痛苦，他們的身體又健康又肥壯（本節原文作“他們到死都沒有痛苦，他們的身體肥壯”）。他們沒有一般人所受的苦難，也不像普通人一樣遭遇災害。所以，驕傲像鍊子戴在他們的頸項上，強暴好像衣裳穿在他們的身上。他們的罪孽是出於麻木的心（按照《馬索拉文本》，“他們的罪孽是出於麻木的心”應作“他們的眼睛因體胖而凸出”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯），他們心裡的惡念氾濫。

“天國好像藏在田裡的寶貝，有人發現了，就把它藏起來，高高興興地離去，變賣了他的一切，來買那田地。

看這些惡人，他們常享安逸，財富卻增加。
