who lends money to the poor without interest; who does not accept a bribe against the innocent. Whoever does these things will never be shaken.

Blessed[ are] they that keep judgment,[ and] he that doeth righteousness at all times.

And said[ unto them], What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth[ therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge[ asketh] for a reward; and the great[ man], he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.

For there were that said, We, our sons, and our daughters,[ are] many: therefore we take up corn[ for them], that we may eat, and live.[ Some] also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses, that we might buy corn, because of the dearth.There were also that said, We have borrowed money for the king’s tribute,[ and that upon] our lands and vineyards.Yet now our flesh[ is] as the flesh of our brethren, our children as their children: and, lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters to be servants, and[ some] of our daughters are brought unto bondage[ already]: neither[ is it] in our power[ to redeem them]; for other men have our lands and vineyards.

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

Again, when the wicked[ man] turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

[ That] hath taken off his hand from the poor,[ that] hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live.

Then I consulted with myself, and I rebuked the nobles, and the rulers, and said unto them, Ye exact usury, every one of his brother. And I set a great assembly against them.And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing[ to answer].Also I said, It[ is] not good that ye do: ought ye not to walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the heathen our enemies?I likewise,[ and] my brethren, and my servants, might exact of them money and corn: I pray you, let us leave off this usury.Restore, I pray you, to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their oliveyards, and their houses, also the hundredth[ part] of the money, and of the corn, the wine, and the oil, that ye exact of them.Then said they, We will restore[ them], and will require nothing of them; so will we do as thou sayest. Then I called the priests, and took an oath of them, that they should do according to this promise.Also I shook my lap, and said, So God shake out every man from his house, and from his labour, that performeth not this promise, even thus be he shaken out, and emptied. And all the congregation said, Amen, and praised the LORD. And the people did according to this promise.

I have set the LORD always before me: because[ he is] at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What[ is that] to us? see thou[ to that].And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
