Are there any among the idols of the nations who give rain? Or can the heavens grant showers? Is it not You, Lord our God? Therefore we wait for You, For You are the one who has done all these things.

I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned nor hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also command the clouds not to rain on it.”

For He draws up the drops of water; They distill rain from its celestial stream,Which clouds pour down; They drip upon mankind abundantly.Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, The thundering of His pavilion?Behold, He spreads His lightning about Him, And He covers the depths of the sea.For by them He judges peoples; He gives food in abundance.He covers His hands with the lightning, And commands it to strike the target.Its thundering voice declares His presence; The livestock also, concerning what is coming up.

yet He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.”

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.
