But the Lord looks with favor on those who respect him. He watches over those who put their hope in his faithful love.

The Lord takes delight in his people. He awards with victory those who are humble.

Those who had respect for the Lord talked with one another. And the Lord heard them. A list of people and what they did was written in a book in front of him. It included the names of those who respected the Lord and honored him.“ The day is coming when I will judge,” says the Lord who rules over all.“ On that day they will be my special treasure. I will spare them just as a father loves and spares his son who serves him.

The Lord your God is with you. He is the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you. In his love he will no longer punish you. Instead, he will sing for joy because of you.”

People will not call you Deserted anymore. They will no longer name your land Empty. Instead, you will be called One the Lord Delights In. Your land will be named Married One. That’s because the Lord will take delight in you. And your land will be married.

Let those who are happy when my name is cleared shout with joy and gladness. Let them always say,“ May the Lord be honored. He is pleased when everything goes well with the one who serves him.”

So be watchful, and control yourselves completely. In this way, put your hope in the grace that lies ahead. This grace will be brought to you when Jesus Christ returns.

Charm can fool you. Beauty fades. But a woman who has respect for the Lord should be praised.

Lord, may your faithful love be with us. We put our hope in you.

The Lord hates those whose hearts are twisted. But he is pleased with those who live without blame.

You call on a Father who judges each person’s work without favoring one over another. So live as outsiders during your time here. Live with the highest respect for God.

Instead, your beauty comes from inside you. It is the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. Beauty like this doesn’t fade away. God places great value on it.
