戰馬徒有力。佳兵安足恃。戰馬與佳兵。皆非主所喜。

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;

He doesn’t take pleasure in the strength of horses. He doesn’t take delight in the strong legs of warriors.

His delight is not in the strength of the horse, nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,

He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might.

He is not impressed by the strength of a horse; he does not value the power of a warrior.

His majestic snorting strikes terror.He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength; He gallops into the clash of arms.He mocks at fear, and is not frightened; Nor does he turn back from the sword.The quiver rattles against him, The glittering spear and javelin.He devours the distance with fierceness and rage; Nor does he come to a halt because the trumpet has sounded.At the blast of the trumpet he says,‘ Aha!’ He smells the battle from afar, The thunder of captains and shouting.

Now the three sons of Zeruiah were there: Joab and Abishai and Asahel. And Asahel was as fleet of foot as a wild gazelle.So Asahel pursued Abner, and in going he did not turn to the right hand or to the left from following Abner.Then Abner looked behind him and said,“ Are you Asahel?” He answered,“ I am.”And Abner said to him,“ Turn aside to your right hand or to your left, and lay hold on one of the young men and take his armor for yourself.” But Asahel would not turn aside from following him.So Abner said again to Asahel,“ Turn aside from following me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How then could I face your brother Joab?”However, he refused to turn aside. Therefore Abner struck him in the stomach with the blunt end of the spear, so that the spear came out of his back; and he fell down there and died on the spot. So it was that as many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died, stood still.

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But deliverance is of the Lord.
