The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord watches over the outsiders who live in our land. He takes good care of children whose fathers have died. He also takes good care of widows. But he causes evil people to fail in everything they do.

The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

他为孤儿寡妇伸冤，爱护寄居的，赐给他衣食。所以你们要爱护寄居的，因为你们在埃及地也作过寄居的。

恶人的道幽暗，自己不知因何跌倒。

于是哈曼被挂在他为末底改所预备的木架上；王的愤怒才平息了。

在上帝—我们的父面前，清洁没有玷污的虔诚就是看顾在患难中的孤儿寡妇，并且保守自己不沾染世俗。

因为这世界的智慧在上帝看来是愚拙的。如经上记着：“主使有智慧的人中了自己的诡计；”

亚希多弗见他的计谋不被接纳，就备上驴，动身归回本城，到了自己的家。他留下遗嘱给他的家，就上吊死了，葬在他父亲的坟墓里。

他破坏通达人的计谋，使他们手所做的不得成就。他使有智慧的人中了自己的诡计，叫狡诈人的计谋速速落空。他们白昼遇见黑暗，午间摸索如在夜间。

我的上帝啊，求你使他们像旋风中的尘土，如风前的碎秸。火怎样焚烧树林，火焰怎样烧着山岭，求你也照样用狂风追赶他们，用暴雨恐吓他们。耶和华啊，求你使他们满面羞耻，好叫他们寻求你的名！愿他们永远羞愧惊惶！愿他们惭愧灭亡！

亚述不能救我们，我们不再骑马，也不再对我们手所造的偶像说：‘你是我们的上帝’；孤儿在你那里得蒙怜悯。”

耶和华保护凡爱他的人，却要灭绝所有的恶人。

耶和华必拆毁骄傲人的家，却要立定寡妇的地界。

你和你的儿女、仆婢，以及住在你城里的利未人、在你中间寄居的和孤儿寡妇，都要在那里，耶和华—你上帝选择作为他名居所的地方，在耶和华—你上帝面前欢乐。

他的妻子细利斯和他所有的朋友对他说：“叫人做一个五十肘高的木架，早晨求王把末底改挂在其上，然后你可以欢欢喜喜随王赴席。”哈曼认为这话很好，就叫人做了木架。

有人告诉大卫说：“亚希多弗也在叛党之中，随从押沙龙。”大卫说：“耶和华啊，求你使亚希多弗的计谋变为愚拙！”

清洁的人，你以清洁待他；歪曲的人，你以弯曲待他。

但这阴谋到了王面前，王却降旨使哈曼谋害犹太人的恶事归到他自己的头上，他和他的众子都被挂在木架上。
