The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

The Lord watches over the outsiders who live in our land. He takes good care of children whose fathers have died. He also takes good care of widows. But he causes evil people to fail in everything they do.

The Lord watches over the sojourners; he upholds the widow and the fatherless, but the way of the wicked he brings to ruin.

The Lord protects the foreigners among us. He cares for the orphans and widows, but he frustrates the plans of the wicked.

“不可欺压在你们中间寄居的人，因为你们在埃及也做过寄居的人。“不可亏待寡妇和孤儿，

万军之耶和华说：“我要来到你们当中施行审判，速速作证指控那些行邪术的、通奸的、起假誓的、克扣工人薪水的、欺压寡妇孤儿的、冤枉异乡人的，以及不敬畏我的。

祂为孤儿寡妇主持公道，关爱寄居者，供给他们衣食。所以，你们要爱寄居者，因为你们也曾寄居埃及。

恶人的道路一片幽暗，他们不知被何物绊倒。

于是，哈曼被吊在他为末底改预备的木架上，王的怒气这才平息。

在父上帝看来，纯洁无瑕的虔诚是指照顾患难中的孤儿寡妇，并且不让自己被世俗玷污。

因为这世上的智慧在上帝的眼中都是愚昧的，正如圣经上说：“上帝使智者中了自己的诡计。”

亚希多弗见自己的提议不被接纳，便备上驴，启程回乡，安顿好家事以后，就自缢身亡了。他被安葬在他父亲的墓穴里。

祂挫败狡猾人的阴谋，使他们无法得逞。祂使智者中了自己的诡计，使奸徒的计谋迅速落空。他们白天遇到黑暗，午间摸索如在夜晚。

我的上帝啊，求你把他们驱散，如同狂风吹散尘土和碎秸。烈火怎样烧毁森林，火焰怎样吞没山岭，求你也照样用狂风追赶他们，用暴雨恐吓他们。耶和华啊，求你使他们满面羞愧，这样他们才会来寻求你。愿他们永远羞愧惊恐，愿他们在耻辱中灭亡。

我们不再向亚述求救，不再依靠战马，也不再称自己所造的神像为我们的上帝。耶和华啊，只有在你那里，孤儿才能得到怜悯。”

耶和华保护所有爱祂的人，毁灭一切恶人。

耶和华拆毁傲慢人的房屋，祂使寡妇的地界完整无损。

你们要和儿女、仆婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤儿寡妇在你们的上帝耶和华选定的敬拜场所，在祂面前一起欢喜快乐。

他妻子细利斯和他所有的朋友对他说：“你可以叫人做一个二十三米高的木架，明天早上求王将末底改吊在上面，然后你可以快乐地随王去赴宴。”哈曼喜欢这个提议，就叫人做了木架。

有人告诉大卫，亚希多弗也叛变，投奔了押沙龙，大卫就祷告说：“耶和华啊，求你使亚希多弗的谋算都变得愚不可及。”

纯洁的人，你以纯洁待他；心术不正的人，你以计谋待他。

但王知道这阴谋后，便降旨使哈曼谋害犹太人的恶计落到他自己头上，将他及其众子吊在木架上。
