You are the God who helps kings win battles. You save your servant David. From death by the sword

David said to the Philistine,“ You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. (niv)

And Ishbi- Benob, one of the descendants of Rapha, whose bronze spearhead weighed three hundred shekels and who was armed with a new sword, said he would kill David.But Abishai son of Zeruiah came to David’s rescue; he struck the Philistine down and killed him. Then David’s men swore to him, saying,“ Never again will you go out with us to battle, so that the lamp of Israel will not be extinguished.” (niv)

so David inquired of the Lord,“ Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?” The Lord answered him,“ Go, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.”So David went to Baal Perazim, and there he defeated them. He said,“ As waters break out, the Lord has broken out against my enemies before me.” So that place was called Baal Perazim.The Philistines abandoned their idols there, and David and his men carried them off.Once more the Philistines came up and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim;so David inquired of the Lord, and he answered,“ Do not go straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the poplar trees.As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.”So David did as the Lord commanded him, and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Gibeon to Gezer. Now I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to him.All nations will serve him and his son and his grandson until the time for his land comes; then many nations and great kings will subjugate him.“‘“ If, however, any nation or kingdom will not serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon or bow its neck under his yoke, I will punish that nation with the sword, famine and plague, declares the Lord, until I destroy it by his hand. He put garrisons in the Aramean kingdom of Damascus, and the Arameans became subject to him and brought tribute. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went.David took the gold shields that belonged to the officers of Hadadezer and brought them to Jerusalem.From Tebah and Berothai, towns that belonged to Hadadezer, King David took a great quantity of bronze.When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the entire army of Hadadezer,he sent his son Joram to King David to greet him and congratulate him on his victory in battle over Hadadezer, who had been at war with Tou. Joram brought with him articles of silver, of gold and of bronze.King David dedicated these articles to the Lord, as he had done with the silver and gold from all the nations he had subdued:Edom and Moab, the Ammonites and the Philistines, and Amalek. He also dedicated the plunder taken from Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah.And David became famous after he returned from striking down eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt.He put garrisons throughout Edom, and all the Edomites became subject to David. The Lord gave David victory wherever he went. (niv)

Now Naaman was commander of the army of the king of Aram. He was a great man in the sight of his master and highly regarded, because through him the Lord had given victory to Aram. He was a valiant soldier, but he had leprosy. (niv)

“ This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut:I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron.I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.For the sake of Jacob my servant, of Israel my chosen, I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me.I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me,so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. I am the Lord, and there is no other. (niv)
