耶和華兮、導我以逵衢、遵爾之大路兮、余恆望爾兮、蒙爾拯救、爾導予以真理兮、而訓誨之予加、

以色列族之聖主、救主耶和華、告選民曰、我乃爾之上帝耶和華、我示爾以獲益之方、導爾以當行之道。

上帝在彼、其城不移、上帝祐之、其效甚捷兮。

爾或偏於左、偏於右、聲從後至、聞於耳畔曰、此其道也、爾當遵循、

一心恃耶和華、毋恃己能。凡事崇主、則蒙啟導。

仇敵陷予、求耶和華引我於康莊、導我於坦途兮、

越在疇昔、耶和華錫予以恩、予朝夕作歌以頌之兮、今籲救我生命之上帝、

耶和華兮、余中心瞻仰兮、我之上帝、余惟爾是恃兮、毋使敵凱歌、毋使予愧恥、

爾為我之上帝、請爾指示、遵從爾命、爾之神無不善、祈導我於坦途兮、

患難之時、爾護衛予、至於詰朝、我將謳歌、頌爾巨能、揚爾矜憫兮、

敬虔之士、我將教爾、導爾於當由之途、我將顧爾、訓迪爾衷、

其怒不過俄頃、彼加予恩、藉以得生、雖夤夜而哭泣、朝來則有歡聲兮、

施爾仁慈、毋遲毋緩、俾余慰藉、畢生喜樂兮、

仰望吾主、使僕歡愉兮。

昔爾甄陶余、今以智慧賜余、學爾誡命兮、

當拱手立志、祈求天上上帝兮。

我之敵兮、實繁有徒、望耶和華示我以大義兮、導我以坦途、

賜我智慧、守爾律例、盡心遵之兮、

我必黽勉以從耶和華之道、彼之祐我、若晨光之朗耀、若春雨之潤澤。

雅各獨留、遇一人、與之角力、迄於黎明。相角之時、其人自知不勝、擊雅各髀傷之、曰天將明矣、請釋我去。雅各曰、不為我祝嘏、必不容爾去。曰爾何名。曰、雅各。曰今以後、不祇名雅各、更名以色列、蓋爾得志於上帝前、與人爭無不勝。雅各曰、請以爾名告我。曰、曷問我名。遂在彼錫嘏。
