I am counted among those going down to the Pit. I am like a man without strength,abandoned among the dead. I am like the slain lying in the grave, whom You no longer remember, and who are cut off from Your care.You have put me in the lowest part of the Pit, in the darkest places, in the depths.Your wrath weighs heavily on me; You have overwhelmed me with all Your waves. I will boast in the Lord; the humble will hear and be glad.

See, we count as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome from the Lord. The Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

When my enemies retreat, they stumble and perish before You.

and have not handed me over to the enemy. You have set my feet in a spacious place.

The Spirit of the Lord God is on Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;

I cry aloud to the Lord; I plead aloud to the Lord for mercy.

Those who fear You will see me and rejoice, for I put my hope in Your word.
