I cry aloud to the Lord; I lift up my voice to the Lord for mercy.

I call out to the Lord. I pray to him for mercy.

With my voice I cry out to the Lord; with my voice I plead for mercy to the Lord.

I cry out to the Lord; I plead for the Lord’s mercy.

I cry aloud to the LORD; I plead aloud to the LORD for mercy.

I cry out with my voice to the Lord; With my voice I implore the Lord for compassion.

I cry with my voice unto Jehovah; With my voice unto Jehovah do I make supplication.

I cry aloud to the Lord; I plead aloud to the Lord for mercy.

I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication.

To the LORD I cry out; to the LORD I plead for mercy.

I cry with my voice to Yahweh. With my voice, I ask Yahweh for mercy.

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, Until these calamities have passed by.

Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.

Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your strength.

Lord, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.

So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to attend to his needs.( David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.)

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,“ Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. So when his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him.And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him.
