Let a righteous man strike me— that is a kindness; let him rebuke me— that is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it, for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers.

If a godly person hit me, it would be an act of kindness. If they would correct me, it would be like pouring olive oil on my head. I wouldn’t say no to it. I will always pray against the things that sinful people do.

Smite a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; And reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

Where there is no counsel, purposes are disappointed; But in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

Better is open rebuke Than love that is hidden.Faithful are the wounds of a friend; But the kisses of an enemy are profuse.

A fool despiseth his father’s correction; But he that regardeth reproof getteth prudence.

Reprove not a scoffer, lest he hate thee: Reprove a wise man, and he will love thee.Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

As many as I love, I reprove and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: Build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
