然而，耶和华使海面起了狂风，滔天巨浪几乎把船打成碎片。

祂降下雨水浇灌大地，赐下甘霖滋润田园。

旱灾持续了三年。一天，耶和华吩咐以利亚说：“你去见亚哈。我要降雨在地上。”

以利亚对亚哈说：“你去吃喝吧，因为我已听见大雨将临的声音。”亚哈就去吃喝。以利亚上到迦密山顶，跪在地上，脸伏在双膝之间。他吩咐仆人：“你去向海的方向观看。”仆人就去观看，然后说：“什么也没有。”以利亚又让他去观看，前后共七次。第七次，仆人说：“我看见一朵手掌那么大的云从海里升起来了。”以利亚便吩咐他：“你去告诉亚哈，叫他套车下山，免得被雨阻挡。”霎时间，天上乌云密布，狂风大作，下起大雨。亚哈坐着马车回耶斯列。

风随意吹动，你听见它的声音，却不知道它从哪里来，往哪里去。凡从圣灵生的人也是这样。”

“你曾到过雪库，或见过雹仓吗？那是我为降灾之时，为争战之日而预备的。光从哪条路散开？东风从哪条路吹向大地？谁为豪雨开水道，为雷电辟路径，使雨水降在杳无人烟之地，降在无人居住的旷野，以滋润荒凉不毛之地，使土地长出青草？雨水有父亲吗？谁生的露珠？

在列国供奉的偶像中，谁能赐下雨水呢？天能自降甘霖吗？我们的上帝耶和华啊，难道不是只有你能行这些事吗？是你赐雨水降甘霖，所以我们仰望你。

地上还没有草木菜蔬，因为耶和华上帝还没有降雨在地上，土地也没有人耕作，但有水从地里涌出，浇灌大地。

祂一声令下，狂风大作，巨浪滔天。
