why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain, at the mountain where God chooses to reign, where the Lord himself will dwell forever?

But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,

but he chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved.He built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth that he established forever.

The Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth, like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion, the city of the Great King.God is in her citadels; he has shown himself to be her fortress.

God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great.His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion.

What answer shall be given to the envoys of that nation?“ The Lord has established Zion, and in her his afflicted people will find refuge.”
