Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;

Lord, I cry out to you because I’m suffering so deeply.

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!

From the depths of despair, O Lord, I call for your help.

Out of the depths I call to you, LORD!

Out of the depths I have cried to You, Lord.

From the deep water I cry out to you, O LORD.

Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.

They silenced my life in the pit And threw stones at me.The waters flowed over my head; I said,“ I am cut off!”I called on Your name, O Lord, From the lowest pit.

And he said:“ I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, And He answered me.“ Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice.For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and Your waves passed over me.Then I said,‘ I have been cast out of Your sight; Yet I will look again toward Your holy temple.’

Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck.I sink in deep mire, Where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, Where the floods overflow me.

Deliver me out of the mire, And let me not sink; Let me be delivered from those who hate me, And out of the deep waters.Let not the floodwater overflow me, Nor let the deep swallow me up; And let not the pit shut its mouth on me.

who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,

The pains of death surrounded me, And the pangs of Sheol laid hold of me; I found trouble and sorrow.Then I called upon the name of the Lord:“ O Lord, I implore You, deliver my soul!”

You, who have shown me great and severe troubles, Shall revive me again, And bring me up again from the depths of the earth.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help?

Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted.The troubles of my heart have enlarged; Bring me out of my distresses!Look on my affliction and my pain, And forgive all my sins.

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream.

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

“ Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth,” Let Israel now say—

Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens.

“ If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel now say—

Blessed is every one who fears the Lord, Who walks in His ways.

Those who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion, Which cannot be moved, but abides forever.

The pangs of death surrounded me, And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me.In my distress I called upon the Lord, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry came before Him, even to His ears.

I was glad when they said to me,“ Let us go into the house of the Lord.”

You have laid me in the lowest pit, In darkness, in the depths.Your wrath lies heavy upon me, And You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah
