The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.

Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble.The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies.The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well watered garden, like an ever flowing spring.

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

Pour out your unfailing love on those who love you; give justice to those with honest hearts.

For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.

Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!

As they approached, Jesus said,“ Now here is a genuine son of Israel— a man of complete integrity.”

Truly God is good to Israel, to those whose hearts are pure.
