奮怒於我、則生吞我兮、

彼向我發怒時、則早已將我生吞、

吾儕早應被吞滅。

they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us;

Suppose he had not been on our side when their burning anger blazed out against us. Then they would have swallowed us alive.
