We keep looking to the Lord our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.

看哪，仆人的眼睛怎样望主人的手，使女的眼睛怎样望主母的手，我们的眼睛也照样望耶和华我们的神，直到他怜悯我们。

看哪，仆人的眼睛怎样仰望主人的手，婢女的眼睛怎样仰望女主人的手，我们的眼睛也照样仰望耶和华—我们的上帝，直到他怜悯我们。

看哪，仆人的眼睛怎样仰望主人的手，婢女的眼睛怎样仰望女主人的手，我们的眼睛也照样仰望耶和华—我们的神，直到他怜悯我们。

我们要仰望我们的上帝耶和华，如同仆人仰望主人、婢女仰望主母，一直到蒙祂怜悯。

看哪，僕人的眼睛怎樣望主人的手，使女的眼睛怎樣望主母的手，我們的眼睛也照樣望耶和華－我們的神，直到他憐憫我們。

看哪，僕人的眼睛怎樣仰望主人的手，婢女的眼睛怎樣仰望女主人的手，我們的眼睛也照樣仰望耶和華－我們的上帝，直到他憐憫我們。

看哪！僕人的眼睛怎樣望著自己主人的手，婢女的眼睛怎樣望著自己主母的手，我們的眼睛也照樣望著耶和華我們的神，直到他恩待我們。

如僕之目、望主人之手、如婢之目、望主母之手、我目亦望我上帝耶和華、待其矜憫兮、

如僕舉目望主、如婢舉目望主母、我則瞻仰我之上帝耶和華、望其矜憫兮、

我目仰望主我之天主、俟主憐憫我儕、如僕之目望主人之手、如婢之目望主母之手、

猶如彼僮僕。常看東翁手。猶如婢女目。恆在主婦肘。吾目亦視主。望主頒恩佑。

As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female slave look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy.

Slaves depend on their masters. A female slave depends on the woman she works for. In the same way, we depend on the Lord our God. We wait for him to have mercy on us.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us.

Like a servant’s eyes on his master’s hand, like a servant girl’s eyes on her mistress’s hand, so our eyes are on the LORD our God until he shows us favor.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, As the eyes of a female servant to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the Lord our God, Until He is gracious to us.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the Lord our God, Until He has mercy on us.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid unto the hand of her mistress; So our eyes look unto Jehovah our God, Until he have mercy upon us.

Like a servant’s eyes on his master’s hand, like a servant girl’s eyes on her mistress’s hand, so our eyes are on the Lord our God until He shows us favor.

Behold, as the eyes of servants[ look] unto the hand of their masters,[ and] as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes[ wait] upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Look, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a female servant look to the hand of her mistress, so my eyes will look to the LORD, our God, until he shows us favor.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress; so our eyes look to Yahweh, our God, until he has mercy on us.

I am counting on the Lord; yes, I am counting on him. I have put my hope in his word.I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn.

The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord.

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry.He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.

My eyes are always on the Lord, for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies.

One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

I trust in you for salvation, O Lord!

Then the man said,“ Let me go, for the dawn is breaking!” But Jacob said,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”

The men of Gibeon quickly sent messengers to Joshua at his camp in Gilgal.“ Don’t abandon your servants now!” they pleaded.“ Come at once! Save us! Help us! For all the Amorite kings who live in the hill country have joined forces to attack us.”

My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?

But that day he made the Gibeonites the woodcutters and water carriers for the community of Israel and for the altar of the Lord— wherever the Lord would choose to build it. And that is what they do to this day.

My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.

May you be cursed! From now on you will always be servants who cut wood and carry water for the house of my God.”
