Save me, Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.

Lord, save me from people whose lips tell lies. Save me from people whose tongues don’t tell the truth.

Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue.

Rescue me, O Lord, from liars and from all deceitful people.

Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death,but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forwardand said,“ This fellow said,‘ I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.’”And the high priest arose and said to Him,“ Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?”

Fierce witnesses rise up; They ask me things that I do not know.

Do not keep silent, O God of my praise!For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful Have opened against me; They have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight.

Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.You love evil more than good, Lying rather than speaking righteousness. SelahYou love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue.

Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men,Who plan evil things in their hearts; They continually gather together for war.They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; The poison of asps is under their lips. Selah
