How the faithful city has become a harlot! It was full of justice; Righteousness lodged in it, But now murderers.Your silver has become dross, Your wine mixed with water.

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

No one calls for justice, Nor does any plead for truth. They trust in empty words and speak lies; They conceive evil and bring forth iniquity.

Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, But who can find a faithful man?

So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.

I looked, but there was no one to help, And I wondered That there was no one to uphold; Therefore My own arm brought salvation for Me; And My own fury, it sustained Me.

O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your anger, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure.
