The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes.

Sinful people are waiting to destroy me. But I will spend time thinking about your covenant laws.

The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies.

Though the wicked hide along the way to kill me, I will quietly keep my mind on your laws.

The wicked hope to destroy me, but I contemplate your decrees.

The wicked watch the righteous, and seek to kill him.

They also who seek after my life lay snares. Those who seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and meditate deceits all day long.

The proud have smeared a lie upon me. With my whole heart, I will keep your precepts.

He lies in wait near the villages. From ambushes, he murders the innocent. His eyes are secretly set against the helpless.He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless when he draws him in his net.The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength.

Indeed your statutes are my delight, and my counselors.

asking a favor against him, that he would summon him to Jerusalem; plotting to kill him on the way.

The ropes of the wicked bind me, but I won’t forget your law.

The proud have dug pits for me, contrary to your law.All of your commandments are faithful. They persecute me wrongfully. Help me!They had almost wiped me from the earth, but I didn’t forsake your precepts.

I have taken your testimonies as a heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.

I cling to your statutes, Yahweh. Don’t let me be disappointed.
