驕者不從爾律、為我掘阱兮、

驕者違爾律例、掘阱以陷余兮、

驕傲之人、掘坑以陷我、彼不順從主之律法、

驕人設網。我跡是窺。心懷叵測。目無明規。

The arrogant dig pits to trap me, contrary to your law.

Proud people do what is against your law. They dig pits for me to fall into.

The insolent have dug pitfalls for me; they do not live according to your law.

These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.

The proud have dug pits for me, Which is not according to Your law.

Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made. (niv)

May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts. (niv)

A scoundrel plots evil, and on their lips it is like a scorching fire. (niv)

Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember that I stood before you and spoke in their behalf to turn your wrath away from them. (niv)

Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge people with equity?No, in your heart you devise injustice, and your hands mete out violence on the earth. (niv)

Let a cry be heard from their houses when you suddenly bring invaders against them, for they have dug a pit to capture me and have hidden snares for my feet. (niv)
