Let the arrogant be put to shame for slandering me with lies; I will meditate on your precepts.

相彼群姦。無故相侵。我仍樂道。涵泳日新。

May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts.

May proud people be put to shame for treating me badly for no reason. I will think deeply about your rules.

Let the insolent be put to shame, because they have wronged me with falsehood; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts.

Bring disgrace upon the arrogant people who lied about me; meanwhile, I will concentrate on your commandments.

Let those who rejoice at my misfortune be disgraced and humiliated; let those who exalt themselves over me be clothed with shame and reproach.

You rebuke the arrogant, the ones under a curse, who wander from your commands.

They hid their net for me without cause; they dug a pit for me without cause.

Instead, his delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.

Then he continued,“ Why is my lord pursuing his servant? What have I done? What crime have I committed?

No one who waits for you will be disgraced; those who act treacherously without cause will be disgraced.

The arrogant constantly ridicule me, but I do not turn away from your instruction.

You can see with your own eyes that the LORD handed you over to me today in the cave. Someone advised me to kill you, but I took pity on you and said: I won’t lift my hand against my lord, since he is the LORD’s anointed.Look, my father! Look at the corner of your robe in my hand, for I cut it off, but I didn’t kill you. Recognize that I’ve committed no crime or rebellion. I haven’t sinned against you even though you are hunting me down to take my life.“ May the LORD judge between me and you, and may the LORD take vengeance on you for me, but my hand will never be against you.

and said to David,“ You are more righteous than I, for you have done what is good to me though I have done what is evil to you.

Those who hate me without cause are more numerous than the hairs of my head; my deceitful enemies, who would destroy me, are powerful. Though I did not steal, I must repay.

The arrogant will stumble and fall with no one to pick him up. I will set fire to his cities, and it will consume everything around him.

But this happened so that the statement written in their law might be fulfilled: They hated me for no reason.

LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is injustice on my hands,if I have done harm to one at peace with me or have plundered my adversary without cause,may an enemy pursue and overtake me; may he trample me to the ground and leave my honor in the dust. Selah

They surround me with hateful words and attack me without cause.

For what credit is there if when you do wrong and are beaten, you endure it? But when you do what is good and suffer, if you endure it, this brings favor with God.

Though princes sit together speaking against me, your servant will think about your statutes;

The arrogant have dug pits for me; they violate your instruction.All your commands are true; people persecute me with lies— help me!
