Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands.

Teach me proper discernment and understanding! For I consider your commands to be reliable.

This I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment,

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

He answered them,“ To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them.

Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.His delight will be in the fear of Yahweh. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.

God, give the king your justice; your righteousness to the royal son.He will judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice.

But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised up a savior for them: Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a left- handed man. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

My son, if you will receive my words, and store up my commandments within you,so as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding;yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding;if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures:then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God.For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity,that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints.Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.

“ You also came down on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,and made known to them your holy Sabbath, and commanded them commandments, statutes, and a law, by Moses your servant,

I walk in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of justice,

All of your words are truth. Every one of your righteous ordinances endures forever.

All Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king; for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice.

Let my tongue sing of your word, for all your commandments are righteousness.

Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?”

Give me understanding, and I will keep your law. Yes, I will obey it with my whole heart.

Therefore I consider all of your precepts to be right. I hate every false way.
