Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands.

And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,

Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth.This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

And he answered them,“ To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear,but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked.

Give the king your justice, O God, and your righteousness to the royal son!May he judge your people with righteousness, and your poor with justice!

Then the people of Israel cried out to the Lord, and the Lord raised up for them a deliverer, Ehud, the son of Gera, the Benjaminite, a left-handed man. The people of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.

My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you,making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding;yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures,then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity,guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path;

You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from heaven and gave them right rules and true laws, good statutes and commandments,and you made known to them your holy Sabbath and commanded them commandments and statutes and a law by Moses your servant.

I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice,

The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had rendered, and they stood in awe of the king, because they perceived that the wisdom of God was in him to do justice.

My tongue will sing of your word, for all your commandments are right.

Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”

Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart.

Therefore I consider all your precepts to be right; I hate every false way.
