我則有詞答辱我者、蓋我恃爾言兮、

有侮予者、以是答之、蓋我惟爾言是賴兮、

我便有言以答毀謗我之人、因我仰賴主之言語、

俾向讒人。知所答覆。

Then I can answer those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.

So that I will have an answer for one who taunts me, For I trust in Your word.

So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word.

So shall I have an answer for him that reproacheth me; For I trust in thy word.

Then I can answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in Your word.

So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.

So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I trust in your word.

Therefore keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will be just as I have been told.

When the time comes for you to die, I will raise up your descendant, one of your own sons, to succeed you, and I will establish his kingdom.He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.I will become his father and he will become my son. When he sins, I will correct him with the rod of men and with wounds inflicted by human beings.But my loyal love will not be removed from him as I removed it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.Your house and your kingdom will stand before me permanently; your dynasty will be permanent.’”

As he yelled curses, Shimei said,“ Leave! Leave! You man of bloodshed, you wicked man!The LORD has punished you for all the spilled blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you rule. Now the LORD has given the kingdom into the hand of your son Absalom. Disaster has overtaken you, for you are a man of bloodshed!”

In God– I boast in his promise– in God I trust, I am not afraid. What can mere men do to me?

Many say about me,“ God will not deliver him.”( Selah)

and saying,“ You who can destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are God’s Son, come down from the cross!”In the same way even the chief priests– together with the experts in the law and elders– were mocking him:“ He saved others, but he cannot save himself! He is the king of Israel! If he comes down now from the cross, we will believe in him!He trusts in God– let God, if he wants to, deliver him now because he said,‘ I am God’s Son’!”

But God said to me,‘ You must not build a temple to honor me, for you are a warrior and have spilled blood.’The LORD God of Israel chose me out of my father’s entire family to become king over Israel and have a permanent dynasty. Indeed, he chose Judah as leader, and my father’s family within Judah, and then he picked me out from among my father’s sons and made me king over all Israel.From all the many sons the LORD has given me, he chose Solomon my son to rule on his behalf over Israel.He said to me,‘ Solomon your son is the one who will build my temple and my courts, for I have chosen him to become my son and I will become his father.

Then you spoke through a vision to your faithful followers and said:“ I have energized a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.I have discovered David, my servant. With my holy oil I have anointed him as king.My hand will support him, and my arm will strengthen him.No enemy will be able to exact tribute from him; a violent oppressor will not be able to humiliate him.I will crush his enemies before him; I will strike down those who hate him.He will experience my faithfulness and loyal love, and by my name he will win victories.I will place his hand over the sea, his right hand over the rivers.He will call out to me,‘ You are my father, my God, and the protector who delivers me.’I will appoint him to be my firstborn son, the most exalted of the earth’s kings.I will always extend my loyal love to him, and my covenant with him is secure.I will give him an eternal dynasty, and make his throne as enduring as the skies above.If his sons reject my law and disobey my regulations,if they break my rules and do not keep my commandments,I will punish their rebellion by beating them with a club, their sin by inflicting them with bruises.But I will not remove my loyal love from him, nor be unfaithful to my promise.I will not break my covenant or go back on what I promised.Once and for all I have vowed by my own holiness, I will never deceive David.His dynasty will last forever. His throne will endure before me, like the sun,it will remain stable, like the moon, his throne will endure like the skies.”( Selah)

Be wise, my son, and make my heart glad, so that I may answer anyone who taunts me.

In God– I boast in his promise– in the LORD– I boast in his promise–in God I trust, I am not afraid. What can mere men do to me?

Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.

They crossed at the ford in order to help the king’s household cross and to do whatever he thought appropriate. Now after he had crossed the Jordan, Shimei son of Gera threw himself down before the king.He said to the king,“ Don’t think badly of me, my lord, and don’t recall the sin of your servant on the day when you, my lord the king, left Jerusalem! Please don’t call it to mind!For I, your servant, know that I sinned, and I have come today as the first of all the house of Joseph to come down to meet my lord the king.”

and said,“ Sir, we remember that while that deceiver was still alive he said,‘ After three days I will rise again.’

My enemies’ taunts cut into me to the bone, as they say to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”

I desperately long for your deliverance. I find hope in your word.

Your loyal followers will be glad when they see me, for I find hope in your word.

For my enemies talk about me; those waiting for a chance to kill me plot my demise.They say,“ God has abandoned him. Run and seize him, for there is no one who will rescue him!”

I am disdained by them. When they see me, they shake their heads.
