Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.

You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.

“ When he sits on the throne as king, he must copy for himself this body of instruction on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.He must always keep that copy with him and read it daily as long as he lives. That way he will learn to fear the Lord his God by obeying all the terms of these instructions and decrees.This regular reading will prevent him from becoming proud and acting as if he is above his fellow citizens. It will also prevent him from turning away from these commands in the smallest way. And it will ensure that he and his descendants will reign for many generations in Israel.

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

My son, obey your father’s commands, and don’t neglect your mother’s instruction.Keep their words always in your heart. Tie them around your neck.When you walk, their counsel will lead you. When you sleep, they will protect you. When you wake up, they will advise you.For their command is a lamp and their instruction a light; their corrective discipline is the way to life.

To whom can I give warning? Who will listen when I speak? Their ears are closed, and they cannot hear. They scorn the word of the Lord. They don’t want to listen at all.

Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. NunYour word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.

As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.

Can they take delight in the Almighty? Can they call to God at any time?

They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.

Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.

I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.
