But if it doesn’t please you to worship the LORD, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship— the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living? As for me and my family, we will worship the LORD.”

But he said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.

Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.Be sure that all who are enraged against you will be ashamed and disgraced; those who contend with you will become as nothing and will perish.You will look for those who contend with you, but you will not find them. Those who war against you will become absolutely nothing.For I am the LORD your God, who holds your right hand, who says to you,“ Do not fear, I will help you.Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel. I will help you”— this is the LORD’s declaration. Your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

Sustain me so that I can be safe and always be concerned about your statutes.

I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live,

I am able to do all things through him who strengthens me.

I am yours; save me, for I have studied your precepts.

Because they hated knowledge, didn’t choose to fear the LORD,

Help me stay on the path of your commands, for I take pleasure in it.

So God said to him,“ Because you have requested this and did not ask for long life or riches for yourself, or the death of your enemies, but you asked discernment for yourself to administer justice,I will therefore do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has never been anyone like you before and never will be again.

Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed, because the LORD supports him with his hand.

Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength.Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand.Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest,and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace.In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit— which is the word of God.Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel.For this I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I might be bold enough to speak about it as I should.

I have chosen the way of truth; I have set your ordinances before me.

How I long for your precepts! Give me life through your righteousness.

Immediately the father of the boy cried out,“ I do believe; help my unbelief!”
