Lord, look and consider who You have done this to. Should women eat their own children, the infants they have nurtured? Should priests and prophets be killed in the Lord’s sanctuary?

Consider me and answer, Lord my God. Restore brightness to my eyes; otherwise, I will sleep in death.My enemy will say,“ I have triumphed over him,” and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.

Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are always with me.

I am insignificant and despised, but I do not forget Your precepts.

Consider how I love Your precepts; Lord, give me life according to Your faithful love.

Then the Lord said,“ I have observed the misery of My people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out because of their oppressors, and I know about their sufferings.I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them from that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey— the territory of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

Be gracious to me, Lord; consider my affliction at the hands of those who hate me. Lift me up from the gates of death,

My life is constantly in danger, yet I do not forget Your instruction.

So now, our God— the great, mighty, and awe-inspiring God who keeps His gracious covenant— do not view lightly all the hardships that have afflicted us, our kings and leaders, our priests and prophets, our ancestors and all Your people, from the days of the Assyrian kings until today.

I wander like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your commands.

My son, don’t forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commands;

Consider my enemies; they are numerous, and they hate me violently.
