She made a vow saying,“ O LORD of hosts, if you will look with compassion on the suffering of your female servant, remembering me and not forgetting your servant, and give a male child to your servant, then I will dedicate him to the LORD all the days of his life. His hair will never be cut.”

I will tell of the faithful acts of the LORD, of the LORD’s praiseworthy deeds. I will tell about all the LORD did for us, the many good things he did for the family of Israel, because of his compassion and great faithfulness.He said,“ Certainly they will be my people, children who are not disloyal.” He became their deliverer.Through all that they suffered, he suffered too. The messenger sent from his very presence delivered them. In his love and mercy he protected them; he lifted them up and carried them throughout ancient times.

and the people believed. When they heard that the LORD had attended to the Israelites and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed down close to the ground.

For it is right for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.

Perhaps the LORD will notice my affliction and this day grant me good in place of his curse.”
