I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.

I serve you, so help me to understand what is right. Then I will understand your covenant laws.

Yahweh, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant girl. You have freed me from my chains.

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good conduct that his deeds are done in gentleness of wisdom.But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t boast and don’t lie against the truth.This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.For where jealousy and selfish ambition are, there is confusion and every evil deed.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Give me understanding, and I will keep your law. Yes, I will obey it with my whole heart.

I am yours. Save me, for I have sought your precepts.

But now, being made free from sin and having become servants of God, you have your fruit of sanctification and the result of eternal life.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Keep me from the way of deceit. Grant me your law graciously!

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.

Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things out of your law.I am a stranger on the earth. Don’t hide your commandments from me.

That night, God appeared to Solomon and said to him,“ Ask for what you want me to give you.”Solomon said to God,“ You have shown great loving kindness to David my father, and have made me king in his place.Now, Yahweh God, let your promise to David my father be established; for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?”

The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God,who also made us sufficient as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give your strength to your servant. Save the son of your servant.

Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.
