I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.

I serve you, so help me to understand what is right. Then I will understand your covenant laws.

Lord, I am indeed Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your female servant. You have loosened my bonds.

Who is wise and has understanding among you? He should show his works by good conduct with wisdom’s gentleness.But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your heart, don’t brag and deny the truth.Such wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.For where envy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every kind of evil.But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy.

Help me understand Your instruction, and I will obey it and follow it with all my heart.

I am Yours; save me, for I have sought Your precepts.

But now, since you have been liberated from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification— and the end is eternal life!

Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.

Keep me from the way of deceit and graciously give me Your instruction.

“ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

I have treasured Your word in my heart so that I may not sin against You.

Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wonderful things from Your instruction.I am a stranger on earth; do not hide Your commands from me.

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him:“ Ask. What should I give you?”And Solomon said to God:“ You have shown great and faithful love to my father David, and You have made me king in his place.Lord God, let Your promise to my father David now come true. For You have made me king over a people as numerous as the dust of the earth.Now grant me wisdom and knowledge so that I may lead these people, for who can judge this great people of Yours?”

The sensible man’s wisdom is to consider his way, but the stupidity of fools deceives them.

It is not that we are competent in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God.He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit produces life.

Turn to me and be gracious to me. Give Your strength to Your servant; save the son of Your female servant.

Teach me good judgment and discernment, for I rely on Your commands.
