所羅門向耶和華獻平安祭，牛二萬二千頭，羊十二萬隻；這樣，王和以色列眾人為耶和華的殿舉行了奉獻典禮。那一天，因為耶和華面前的銅祭壇太小，容不下燔祭、素祭和平安祭牲的脂肪，王就把耶和華殿前院子當中的地方分別為聖，在那裡獻燔祭、素祭和平安祭牲的脂肪。

眾人看見了，就面伏於地，說：“耶和華是神！耶和華是神！”

他必使你的公義好像光發出，使你的公正如日中天。

以利亞走近眾人說：“你們三心兩意，要到幾時呢？如果耶和華是神，你們就應當隨從耶和華；如果巴力是神，你們就應當隨從巴力。”眾人一句話也不回答。

第二天，他們向耶和華獻祭，他們向耶和華獻上燔祭；那一天他們獻了公牛一千頭、公綿羊一千隻、羊羔一千隻，以及同獻的奠祭，又為以色列眾人獻了許多祭。
