貧乏者流、處於塵埃、居於糞攘、主舉而升之兮、

從塵埃中高舉卑微之人、從糞土中提拔貧窮之人、

拯貧寒於糞壤兮。拔煢獨於泥中。

He raises poor people up from the trash pile. He lifts needy people out of the ashes.

The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts.He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor.“ For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them he has set the world.

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.

The lowly he sets on high, and those who mourn are lifted to safety.

this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Take off the turban, remove the crown. It will not be as it was: The lowly will be exalted and the exalted will be brought low.A ruin! A ruin! I will make it a ruin! The crown will not be restored until he to whom it rightfully belongs shall come; to him I will give it.’

He has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble.He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty.

Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

“ Now then, tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord Almighty says: I took you from the pasture, from tending the flock, and appointed you ruler over my people Israel.I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men on earth.

He saves the needy from the sword in their mouth; he saves them from the clutches of the powerful.So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts its mouth.

He does not keep the wicked alive but gives the afflicted their rights.He does not take his eyes off the righteous; he enthrones them with kings and exalts them forever.

But your dead will live, Lord; their bodies will rise— let those who dwell in the dust wake up and shout for joy— your dew is like the dew of the morning; the earth will give birth to her dead.

and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also— not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand— with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.

No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves.It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.

All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.“‘ I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’”
