惡人見狀，必然惱怒，咬牙切齒，氣絕身亡。惡人的盼望必破滅。

The wicked will see and be vexed, they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

Evil people will see it and be upset. They will grind their teeth and become weaker and weaker. What evil people long to do can’t succeed.

The wicked man sees it and is angry; he gnashes his teeth and melts away; the desire of the wicked will perish!

「當你們看見亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各和眾先知在上帝的國，自己卻被丟在門外，必要在那裡哀哭切齒。

惡人謀害義人，對他們咬牙切齒。

惡人一死，他的希望就破滅，他對財勢的冀望轉眼成空。

願他們如流水逝去，願他們彎弓搭箭時箭頭折斷。願他們像蝸牛一樣溶為爛泥，又如流產的胎兒不見天日。

義人的憧憬帶來歡樂，惡人的希望終必破滅。

求你賜下恩待我的憑據，使那些恨我的人見狀就抱愧蒙羞，因為你耶和華幫助我、安慰我。

他在陰間受折磨，抬頭遠遠地看見亞伯拉罕和他身邊的拉撒路，就喊著說，『我的先祖亞伯拉罕啊！求你可憐我，派拉撒路用指尖蘸點水來潤潤我的舌頭吧！我在這火中實在痛苦不堪。』「亞伯拉罕說，『孩子啊！你要想想，你生前享福，而拉撒路受苦；如今他在這裡得到安慰，而你受折磨。況且，在你我中間隔著一道深淵，這邊的人不能到你那邊去，你那邊的人也不能到這裡來。』

第五位天使將碗倒在那海中怪獸的座位上，牠的國便被黑暗籠罩，牠的國民痛苦難當，咬自己的舌頭。他們因為痛苦和毒瘡就褻瀆天上的上帝，不肯為自己的所作所為悔改。

忘記上帝的人，結局也是如此；不信上帝的人，盼望終必破滅。

但那些本應承受天國的人反會被趕出去，在黑暗裡哀哭切齒。」

所以主耶和華說：「看啊，我的僕人必有吃有喝，你們卻要饑渴交加；我的僕人必歡喜，你們卻要受羞辱；我的僕人必歡喜快樂，揚聲歌唱，你們卻要傷心欲絕，嚎啕大哭。

王便吩咐侍從，『把他手腳綁起來丟到外面的黑暗裡，讓他在那裡哀哭切齒。』」

於是，哈曼將袍子給末底改穿上，讓他騎著馬在城中的廣場上遊行，並在他前面宣告：「王願意賞識誰，就會這樣待他。」之後，末底改回到宮門那裡，哈曼卻悲傷地蒙著頭匆匆回家去了。
