你們彼此接受榮耀，卻不尋求從獨一的神而來的榮耀，那怎麼能信呢？

這是因為他們喜愛人的榮耀，勝過喜愛神的榮耀。

然而，在內心做猶太人的才是猶太人；同樣，內心的割禮才是割禮——不是靠著律法條文而是靠著聖靈；這樣的人得到的稱讚不是從人來的，而是從神來的。

對那些恆心行善，尋求榮耀、尊貴、不朽的，就以永恆的生命回報他們；

「主人對他說：『做得好，忠心的好奴僕！你在少許的事上忠心，我要委任你統管很多的事。進來分享你主人的快樂吧！』

你們既然明白這些事，如果去做，就蒙福了。

並且你從年幼就知道了聖經，這聖經能使你有智慧，藉著在基督耶穌裡的信仰，以至於救恩。聖經都是神所默示的，對於教導、責備、規正、在義中的訓練都是有益處的，要使屬神的人完備，為一切美善的工作，裝備齊全。

好讓你們的信仰經過考驗，就比那被火煉過仍然會朽壞的金子更加寶貴，能在耶穌基督顯現的時候，被看為是可以得著稱讚、榮耀和尊貴的。

原來我們這暫時、輕微的患難，正為我們帶來極重無比、永恆的榮耀。
