For he never thought of doing a kindness, but hounded to death the poor and the needy and the brokenhearted.

They never thought about doing anything kind. Instead, they drove those who were poor and needy to their deaths. They did the same thing to those whose hearts were broken.

For he did not remember to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and the brokenhearted, to put them to death.

He said to them,“ My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here, and watch.”He went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.He said,“ Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire.”

Shouldn’t you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?’His lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, until he should pay all that was due to him.So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you don’t each forgive your brother from your hearts for his misdeeds.”

The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright on the path.

The wicked watch the righteous, and seek to kill him.

David said to Abishai, and to all his servants,“ Behold, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? But you do see trouble and grief. You consider it to take it into your hand. You help the victim and the fatherless.

For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

In arrogance, the wicked hunt down the weak. They are caught in the schemes that they devise.

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
