God has spoken from his sanctuary:“ In triumph I will parcel out Shechem and measure off the Valley of Sukkoth.

God has spoken from his temple. He has said,“ I will win the battle. Then I will divide up the land around Shechem. I will divide up the Valley of Sukkoth.

God has promised in his holiness:“ With exultation I will divide up Shechem and portion out the Valley of Succoth.

Let the house of your servant be blessed forever with your blessing.”

They set apart Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and Kiriath Arba( also called Hebron) in the hill country of Judah.

He said to the men of Succoth,“ Please give loaves of bread to the people who follow me; for they are faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.”The princes of Succoth said,“ Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna now in your hand, that we should give bread to your army?”

The border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethath, which is before Shechem. The border went along to the right hand, to the inhabitants of En Tappuah.

Jacob traveled to Succoth, built himself a house, and made shelters for his livestock. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.
