Is it not you, God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?

神啊，你不是丢弃了我们吗？神啊，你不和我们的军兵同去吗？

上帝啊，你真的丢弃了我们吗？上帝啊，你不和我们的军队同去吗？

上帝啊，你抛弃了我们吗？上帝啊，你不再和我们的军队一同出战了吗？

神啊！你不是把我们丢弃了吗？神啊！你不和我们的军队一同出战吗？

神哪，你不会抛弃了我们吧？神哪，你不与我们的队伍一同出征吗？

神啊，你不是丟棄了我們嗎？神啊，你不和我們的軍兵同去嗎？

上帝啊，你真的丟棄了我們嗎？上帝啊，你不和我們的軍隊同去嗎？

神啊，你真的丟棄了我們嗎？神啊，你不和我們的軍隊同去嗎？

上帝啊，你拋棄了我們嗎？上帝啊，你不再和我們的軍隊一同出戰了嗎？

神啊！你不是把我們丟棄了嗎？神啊！你不和我們的軍隊一同出戰嗎？

上帝啊，不是你把我們屏棄了麼？上帝啊，你不在我們軍隊中去出戰了！

神哪，你不會拋棄了我們吧？神哪，你不與我們的隊伍一同出征嗎？

上帝歟、爾非棄我乎、上帝歟、爾不與我軍偕出兮、

惟爾上帝、素棄我躬、惟爾上帝、今率余軍旅兮、

豈非天主乎、現今主竟遺棄我儕、不偕我軍旅出徵、

誰能領我。襲彼崇墉。誰能引我。征彼夷東。

God, isn’t it you, even though you have now turned away from us? Isn’t it you, even though you don’t lead our armies into battle anymore?

Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go out, O God, with our armies.

Have you rejected us, O God? Will you no longer march with our armies?

God, haven’t you rejected us? God, you do not march out with our armies.

God, have You Yourself not rejected us? And will You not go forth with our armies, God?

Is it not You, O God, who cast us off? And You, O God, who did not go out with our armies?

Hast not thou cast us off, O God? And thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

God, haven’t You rejected us? God, You do not march out with our armies.

[ Wilt] not[ thou], O God,[ who] hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our hosts?

Have you not rejected us, O God? O God, you do not go into battle with our armies.

Haven’t you rejected us, God? You don’t go out, God, with our armies.

But now you have rejected and humbled us; you no longer go out with our armies.

The Philistines gathered all their forces at Aphek, and Israel camped by the spring in Jezreel.As the Philistine rulers marched with their units of hundreds and thousands, David and his men were marching at the rear with Achish.The commanders of the Philistines asked,“ What about these Hebrews?” Achish replied,“ Is this not David, who was an officer of Saul king of Israel? He has already been with me for over a year, and from the day he left Saul until now, I have found no fault in him.”But the Philistine commanders were angry with Achish and said,“ Send the man back, that he may return to the place you assigned him. He must not go with us into battle, or he will turn against us during the fighting. How better could he regain his master’s favor than by taking the heads of our own men?Isn’t this the David they sang about in their dances:“‘ Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands’?So Achish called David and said to him,“ As surely as the Lord lives, you have been reliable, and I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. From the day you came to me until today, I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don’t approve of you.Now turn back and go in peace; do nothing to displease the Philistine rulers.”“ But what have I done?” asked David.“ What have you found against your servant from the day I came to you until now? Why can’t I go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?”Achish answered,“ I know that you have been as pleasing in my eyes as an angel of God; nevertheless, the Philistine commanders have said,‘ He must not go up with us into battle.’Now get up early, along with your master’s servants who have come with you, and leave in the morning as soon as it is light.”So David and his men got up early in the morning to go back to the land of the Philistines, and the Philistines went up to Jezreel.

David asked the men standing near him,“ What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

Then Asa called to the Lord his God and said,“ Lord, there is no one like you to help the powerless against the mighty. Help us, Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this vast army. Lord, you are our God; do not let mere mortals prevail against you.”

Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.

When you go into battle in your own land against an enemy who is oppressing you, sound a blast on the trumpets. Then you will be remembered by the Lord your God and rescued from your enemies.

He said:“ Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you:‘ Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

God is with us; he is our leader. His priests with their trumpets will sound the battle cry against you. People of Israel, do not fight against the Lord, the God of your ancestors, for you will not succeed.”

He shall say:“ Hear, Israel: Today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them.For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
