Jeremiah 49:7-16
Of Edom, Yahweh of Armies says:“ Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?Flee! Turn back! Dwell in the depths, inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau on him when I visit him.If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves came by night, wouldn’t they steal until they had enough?But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he will not be able to hide himself. His offspring is destroyed, with his brothers and his neighbors; and he is no more.Leave your fatherless children. I will preserve them alive. Let your widows trust in me.”For Yahweh says:“ Behold, they to whom it didn’t pertain to drink of the cup will certainly drink; and are you he who will altogether go unpunished? You won’t go unpunished, but you will surely drink.For I have sworn by myself,” says Yahweh,“ that Bozrah will become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse. All its cities will be perpetual wastes.”I have heard news from Yahweh, and an ambassador is sent among the nations, saying,“ Gather yourselves together! Come against her! Rise up to the battle!”“ For, behold, I have made you small among the nations, and despised among men.As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill, though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says Yahweh.

Isaiah 63:1-6
Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? Who is this who is glorious in his clothing, marching in the greatness of his strength?“ It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”Why is your clothing red, and your garments like him who treads in the wine vat?“ I have trodden the wine press alone. Of the peoples, no one was with me. Yes, I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath. Their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed has come.I looked, and there was no one to help; and I wondered that there was no one to uphold. Therefore my own arm brought salvation to me. My own wrath upheld me.I trod down the peoples in my anger and made them drunk in my wrath. I poured their lifeblood out on the earth.”

Psalms 20:6-8
Now I know that Yahweh saves his anointed. He will answer him from his holy heaven, with the saving strength of his right hand.Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of Yahweh our God.They are bowed down and fallen, but we rise up, and stand upright.
