It was true in every territory and every city. Many people from other nations announced that they had become Jews. That’s because they were so afraid of the Jews.

In the past, things went well with you. But in days to come, things will get even better.

The Lord was gracious to Hannah. Over a period of years she had three more sons and two daughters. During that whole time the boy Samuel grew up serving the Lord.

After Job had prayed for his friends, the Lord made him successful again. He gave him twice as much as he had before.All his brothers and sisters and everyone who had known him before came to see him. They ate with him in his house. They showed their concern for him. They comforted him because of all the troubles the Lord had brought on him. Each one gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.The Lord blessed the last part of Job’s life even more than the first part. He gave Job 14,000 sheep and 6,000 camels. He gave him 1,000 pairs of oxen and 1,000 donkeys.

Then, free of those things, you can face others. You can stand firm without being afraid.You can be sure you will forget your troubles. They will be like water that has flowed on by.Life will be brighter than the sun at noon. And darkness will become like morning.You will be secure, because there is hope. You will look around you and find a safe place to rest.You will lie down, and no one will make you afraid. Many people will want you to help them.

The women said to Naomi,“ We praise the Lord. Today he has provided a family protector for you. May this child become famous all over Israel!He will make your life new again. He’ll take care of you when you are old. He’s the son of your very own daughter- in- law. She loves you. Awel- Marduk set Jehoiachin, the king of Judah, free from prison. It was in the 37th year after Jehoiachin had been taken away to Babylon. It was also the year Awel- Marduk became king of Babylon. It was on the 25th day of the 12th month.Awel- Marduk spoke kindly to Jehoiachin. He gave him a place of honor. Other kings were with Jehoiachin in Babylon. But his place was more important than theirs.So Jehoiachin put away his prison clothes. For the rest of Jehoiachin’s life the king of Babylon provided what he needed.The king did that for Jehoiachin day by day as long as he lived. He did it until the day Jehoiachin died.

Israel said to Joseph,“ I never thought I’d see your face again. But now God has let me see your children too.”

The Hittites replied to Abraham,“ Sir, listen to us. You are a mighty prince among us. Bury your wife in the best place we have to bury our dead. None of us will refuse to sell you a place to bury her.”Then Abraham bowed down in front of the Hittites, the people of the land.

Grandchildren are like a crown to older people. And children are proud of their parents.

After all of that happened, Job lived for 140 years. He saw his children, his grandchildren and his great- grandchildren.

As you know, we think that people who don’t give up are blessed. You have heard that Job was patient. And you have seen what the Lord finally did for him. The Lord is full of tender mercy and loving concern.

He raises poor people up from the trash pile. He lifts needy people out of the ashes.He causes them to sit with princes. He causes them to sit with the princes of his people.He gives children to the woman who doesn’t have any children. He makes her a happy mother in her own home. Praise the Lord.
