Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.

Then they cried out to the Lord because of their problems. And he saved them from their troubles.

To you, Lord, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy:“ What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness?Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.”You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

‘ Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’

Then I called on the name of the Lord:“ Lord, save me!”The Lord is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, he saved me.Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling,
