是以上帝有言、必翦滅之、惟所選之摩西、當其衝、立其前、挽回其怒、免行翦滅兮、

於是欲加翦滅、惟有摩西、為上帝所遴選、代民祈求、爰息震怒、不殲斯族兮、

惟時主云將翦滅之、幸有主所選之摩西、立於主前、挽回主怒、不行誅戮、

若非每瑟。為之緩頰。彼代之人。久矣絕跡。

So he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.

Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.And Jehovah repented of the evil which he said he would do unto his people.

He sent Moses his servant, And Aaron whom he had chosen.

Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither built up the wall for the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in the day of Jehovah.

But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me; they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

Behold, my servant whom I have chosen; My beloved in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my Spirit upon him, And he shall declare judgment to the Gentiles.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure, wherewith Jehovah was wroth against you to destroy you. But Jehovah hearkened unto me that time also.

Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected mine ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.But I wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.
