They did not remember what he had done, how he delivered them from the enemy,when he performed his awesome deeds in Egypt, and his acts of judgment in the region of Zoan.He turned their rivers into blood, and they could not drink from their streams.He sent swarms of biting insects against them, as well as frogs that overran their land.He gave their crops to the grasshopper, the fruit of their labor to the locust.He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-fig trees with driving rain.He rained hail down on their cattle, and hurled lightning bolts down on their livestock.His raging anger lashed out against them, He sent fury, rage, and trouble as messengers who bring disaster.He sent his anger in full force; he did not spare them from death; he handed their lives over to destruction.He struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their reproductive power in the tents of Ham.

They sacrificed to demons, not God, to gods they had not known; to new gods who had recently come along, gods your ancestors had not known about.You have forgotten the Rock who fathered you, and put out of mind the God who gave you birth.

You performed awesome signs against Pharaoh, against his servants, and against all the people of his land, for you knew that the Egyptians had acted presumptuously against them. You made for yourself a name that is celebrated to this day.You split the sea before them, and they crossed through the sea on dry ground! But you threw their pursuers into the depths, like a stone into surging waters.

And he brought signs and great, devastating wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on his whole family before our very eyes.

Look, God is my deliverer! I will trust in him and not fear. For the LORD gives me strength and protects me; he has become my deliverer.”

But now in his own time he has made his message evident through the preaching I was entrusted with according to the command of God our Savior.

Does a young woman forget to put on her jewels? Does a bride forget to put on her bridal attire? But my people have forgotten me for more days than can even be counted.

He is the one you should praise; he is your God, the one who has done these great and awesome things for you that you have seen.

But I will have pity on the nation of Judah. I will deliver them by the LORD their God; I will not deliver them by the warrior’s bow, by sword, by military victory, by chariot horses, or by chariots.”

not pilfering, but showing all good faith, in order to bring credit to the teaching of God our Savior in everything.

He performed awesome deeds and acts of judgment in your midst, O Egypt, against Pharaoh and all his servants.

and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Savior,

Tell me! Present the evidence! Let them consult with one another! Who predicted this in the past? Who announced it beforehand? Was it not I, the LORD? I have no peer, there is no God but me, a God who vindicates and delivers; there is none but me.

Or has God ever before tried to deliver a nation from the middle of another nation, accompanied by judgments, signs, wonders, war, strength, power, and other very terrifying things like the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your very eyes?

He said,“ Certainly they will be my people, children who are not disloyal.” He became their deliverer.

But“ when the kindness of God our Savior and his love for mankind appeared,he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior.

They forgot what he had done, the amazing things he had shown them.He did amazing things in the sight of their ancestors, in the land of Egypt, in the region of Zoan.

you must not fear them. You must carefully recall what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and all Egypt,the great judgments you saw, the signs and wonders, the strength and power by which he brought you out– thus the LORD your God will do to all the people you fear.
